This airline has been nothing but trouble since I started the booking. Took several days to add and PAY for a small case. $45 to carry on or $40 to check it?

And this after 5 telephone calls. Then; I printed my boarding pass, paid extra for my seat choice, within 15 to 30 minutes the airlines called me.

They wanted to know if I would accept a 'downgraded' flight. To them this is a lesser plane and lesser seat. For goshsakes Spirit is already a downgrade from other airlines!! What choice did I really have? She rebooked me for the next day, same time, same seat choice, same flight number? What the hec? So I have to cut my trip a day shorter, arrange for a different ride to and from airport and contact the rental place who will NOT give me credit for the day I won't be using it.

I was offered a one-way voucher for compensation. Which I could not use on the return flight. You have to BOOK within 60 days, or it is no good. Honestly, compensation wise, this is not acceptable. I have to say, the customer rep I spoke to was extremely polite with her pre-arranged speech. Unless you like little bumps and major changes I would not use this airline.

Spirit is a NO FRILLS airlines. You pay for seat choices, baggage, food. Everything is extra. And they do not make up for it by being inexpensive. Definitely know beforehand that all extras are ala carte. Flew RT non-stop for $240.

I did select seats because I had grandchildren with me and paid $9/seat one way. Also checked bags that cost $36/bag. There is no distinction between any seats except the first four or so rows are two seats on each side of aisle that look really comfortable and cost an extra $60. All other seats are molded and do not recline.

Food tray is the size of your tablet. The plane was new, clean, great pilots and crew. No frills, but guaranteed to get you there. Did not use the lavatory, but was told it had a changing table for babies. Had a night flight both ways-bring a neck pillow and throw. You could buy water, soda, or snack if you wished-no one did. For the price and convenience, I would fly Spirit again.
